Because the value of the American dollar is 43 times that of the Indian rupee, our money goes far in India. That’s why it is possible to realize the goal of building a five-room brick school building (with attached restrooms) for $10,000! About a third of this amount has already been donated. With your help, we can raise the rest soon, in order to start construction at the end of 2007. We would like to inaugurate the new building in time for the beginning of the 2008 school year. Together we can do it!
Although the Tathagat Welfare Trust is a registered charity in the State of Washington (registration #22305), donations are not tax deductible at this point. However, you can rest assured that 100% of your donation will go directly to our school building fund. We are all volunteers, donating our time and resources to this project, so there are no administrative or overhead costs.
We are working on getting an online donations service through GroundSpring.com, that will enable us to receive donations made via credit card. In the meantime, please don’t let that deter you from making a contribution to our project. Every dollar counts and your money will go directly and fully toward construction of the new school. A contribution of any size would be greatly appreciated. Please send donation checks payable to the Tathagat Welfare Trust, at 8813 31st Ave. SW, Seattle, WA 98126. We are glad to issue you a receipt on Trust stationery, upon request. Thank you so much!
